Phagosome neutrality in host defense
Article Abstract:
The neutralization of phagosomal pH reduces protease activity and also improves crosspenetration in dendritic cells. The patients with chronic granulomatous disease have genetic defects in NADPH oxidase with about 65% lacking functional gp91 and the immunopathology of this condition extends beyond the deficiency in neutrophyll function to involve defects in antiviral T cell responses, most of which depend on class I MHC-restricted viral antigen crosspresentation.

How the T cell receptor sees antigen - A structural view
Article Abstract:
The inherent reactivity of T cell receptors (TCR) for peptide- major histocompatibility complex (pMHC) is discussed. TCR possesses a particular orientation on the pMHC surface for placing the germline-encoded complementarity determining region-1 (CDR1) and complementarity determining region-1 (CDR2) loops in contact with the conserved helical residues of the MHC.

The structure of the [zeta][zeta] transmembrane dimer reveals features essential for its assembly with the T cell receptor
Article Abstract:
The atomic-resolution NMR structure of the membrane-embedded portion of a critical signaling component of the T cell receptor (TCR)-CD3 complex, the [zeta][zeta] homodimer is presented. This structural unit representing only the second trans-membrane dimer interface serves as a paradigm for the assembly of all modules involved in TCR signaling.
